Winter Park

If you’re traveling from Denver, Winter Park is the first town you’ll reach. While the year-round population is only around one thousand people, Winter Park fills up during the winter and summer seasons. You’ll enjoy restaurants, places to shop, nightlife, yoga studios, galleries, and more. Winter Park hosts many events throughout the year, like music festivals, brewery weekends, and a winter carnival.

This classic Colorado mountain town is known for its ski area, Winter Park Resort, which is located just outside of downtown. The ski resort has terrain for both beginners and advanced skiers. Experts love Mary Jane Mountain with its famous mogul runs. In the summer, the resort is home to Colorado’s longest alpine slide — perfect for thrill seekers of all ages.

Fraser

Go five miles past Winter Park on Highway 40, and you’ll reach Fraser. If you’re looking for quiet, wide open space, Fraser is the place to stay. You can take the trail all the way to Winter Park! Around 15 miles past Fraser, you’ll be in Granby. This is a real Colorado town just on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park. Spend your days at Granby Ranch (5 miles from downtown Granby) for skiing in the winter and mountain biking and hiking in the summer. Other nearby places to visit are Lake Granby or Hot Sulphur Springs.
